Margaret Svec , MSW, LCSW

Margaret Svec, MSW, LCSW, psychotherapist, was born and raised in the small town of Salem, Indiana and moved to Evansville in 1989 to attend the University of Evansville. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, she worked in a residential group home for children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues. Margaret received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern Indiana and has been a therapist for over 17 years.

Margaret enjoys treating adolescents and adults in individual, couple, family and/or group therapy. Margaret is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. She has experience with treating adolescents with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral and substance abuse issues in residential, school and outpatient settings. Margaret worked as a therapist for St. Mary's Mulberry Center, providing therapy and mental health services to adolescents in the school setting and conducting group family sessions in the intensive outpatient program. Additionally, she has extensive experience treating adolescents with legal, mental health and behavioral issues who require residential services within the juvenile justice system. Margaret has worked as a therapist for The United Methodist Youth Home, a non-for-profit licensed residential group home for juveniles placed through the judiciary system.

Margaret has been married to Paul for over 20 years and is a proud parent to their son, Austin.
