It is Within Sight
It has been a few months since we said good-bye to our Vann location. Finally, it feels like we have the time, energy and focus to turn our attention to other things like our clinical services, blogging and social media. Whew! We knew this move was going to be a lot, but we also knew it was time to leave our beloved first location. But really why did we move after 12 years in business.? We truly loved our former building, and it allowed us to provide over 90,000 clinical hours of therapy there over our years in business! It was a perfect home for us when we opened and we thought we would bring our full vision to life there.
Since we started Within Sight in 2013, we wanted to offer a different type of mental health service that was being offered in Evansville at that time. We wanted one that focused on quality and highly skilled practitioners who worked collaboratively in a home like and healing environment. We believed we totally accomplished that and our proud of that legacy. We set the bar high and since then and have seen private practices increase and change from a medical model to a peaceful and healing environment with professionals gaining certifications in various therapy models and specializing their skills.
Despite our success, we did not complete our original vision. We also wanted to add other types of clinical services that we knew would speed healing for our clients. But sadly that never happened due to space and time constraints then COVID. COVID changed everything for mental health practices like ours and we are lucky we survived that very difficult time. Since then, we had a difficult decision to make; stay where we were and limp along in a space we'd outgrown or try to make our vision come to fruition. So, we decided to find another beautiful space that would allow us to finally add those services that we dreamed of when we created Within Sight.
Our new space is double the size of what we had and now we have room to not only provide our individual, family and couple therapy sessions but also those services we initially wanted. We are adding group therapy, psychotherapy intensives and training and workshops for mental health professionals. It feels great to be able to finally see our vision come to life.
We have already started a Beginner Somatic Skills Group that is time-limited and focuses on learning how to regulate mood and resource the nervous system through somatic awareness and practices. We will be adding a larger group space either yet this year or at the beginning of 2026 to offer more groups and will be developing an Intermediate Somatic Skills Group soon.
Additionally, we have developed individually tailored Intensives for individuals, couples and families that provide 1 -2 days of psychotherapy using Sandtray Worldplay, EMDR and Somatic Experiencing therapy models. Intensives give clients an opportunity to see progress faster with longer and focused psychotherapy as well as allow clients to develop more insight and integrate this learning with experiential work. We will be partnering with downtown lofts or Airbnbs if clients want to immerse themselves more and get away from their day to day lives while they do this important work.
Finally, we are excited to offer trainings and workshop for mental health professionals in the trial-state area. Having the capacity to offer continuing education in Indiana, our collective 60 years of clinical experience, training and certifications, position us to provide education with in-person skills focused training at a reasonable cost. Professionals really need these opportunities! While COVID gave us more online learning opportunities, it took away the energy and deeper learning we get when with each other.
We know these offerings are so needed in our community and are very excited to announce them to you. We know clients will be able to gain more traction in their mental health healing journeys. Mental health professionals can benefit from collaborating with others as they learn valuable clinical skills. So, yeah that is why we moved! We needed to see that dream finally happen! And it is Within Sight!
