Chohee Barnhill, LCSW, psychotherapist, was born and raised in South Korea and has lived in Evansville since 2017. She graduated from Daegu University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and later received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern Indiana. Chohee worked with children and families in foster care as a home-based case worker and started her mental health clinical work at the community mental health center through Southwestern Behavioral Health, Posey County Outpatient office, serving individuals and families with various needs.
Chohee treats children, adolescents, and adults. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Theraplay, Sand Tray therapy, and Parent Child interactive therapy. Chohee utilizes this training to help people with anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transition issues. She enjoys working with families with behavioral issues and family relationship issues. As an Asian immigrant, Chohee also holds a special place for fellow immigrants and multi-cultural families adjusting to cultural differences. She speaks Korean and Japanese.
Chohee has three dogs, Andy, Felicity, and Elsa, and they are working very hard to keep her happy and healthy. Chohee enjoys going for a walk, trying new food, reading and watching great stories and fiddling with her arts and craft projects with her pups.
