Gerard Medicis, LCSW, LCAC, was born in southern Indiana, grew up in Lancaster, California, and has lived in Evansville, Indiana for over 30 years. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Sociology degree from the University of Southern Indiana, and his Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work. He has been a therapist for over 20 years and has previously worked in solo private practice, Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare, Catholic Charities and Daviess Community Hospital before deciding to make Within Sight his work home.
Gerard treats adolescents, adults and couples. He is experienced in working with addictions, adult AD/HD, anxiety, couple/marital issues, depression and mood disorders. He has extensive training in addictions, including behavioral addictions such as sex addiction. Gerard has been trained in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Client-Directed Outcome-Informed therapy. He is also a certified FOCCUS premarital and REFOCCUS marital facilitator.
He and his lovely wife have been married for 32+ years and he has 3 Dachshunds at home who he dearly loves. During his personal time, Gerard enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 adult children and their spouses. He also loves playing bass, guitar or drums, which he has done since a teen. He uses his talents to play with various church worship teams, local original and cover bands.
